John began his aviation journey in 2006, flying in a small flying club out of Salt Lake City, UT. Though it was not the nearest place to get training the hour drive into the city was worth starting this awesome dream called aviation. After achieving his Private Pilot he and his father bought an 1967 Mooney M20F. The Silver Bullet was hangered in Heber, UT a small mountain airport at the base of Wasatch Mountains. This would be the airplane he would build his first 500hrs in and complete his instrument and commercial ratings in while flying around the Rocky Mountains.
In October of 2009 John and his family moved to Alaska to seek a new adventure, and begin his off-airport skills. They couldn't think of a better place to go and expand their new found love of aviation. He and his family spent the next nine years flying around and exploring the vast beauty of Alaska.
In 2018 John received his Certified Flight Instructor Certificate, in the first 11 months he sent 19 students to pass their Private Pilot checkrides with 100% pass rate.
John then decided it was time to expand his knowledge and went on to work for Hageland Aviation Services flying Cessna 207's in Bethel and Unalakleet.
In the summer of 2020 he decided it was time to return back to instruction and helping pilots achieve their aviation dreams.
John has worked with many students from all walks of life to achieve their aviation dreams. He understands that we all learn differently, and at different paces. We are simply here to help you expand your pilot abilities, and have lots of FUN.
We start initial training flights on larger gravel strips. As pilots become more proficient the strips become increasingly more difficult to navigate and require more skill.
Safety is always the number 1 item on the preflight checklist with us.
